The Speedmaster Moonwatch is one of the most iconic watches in the world. Having participated in all six lunar landings, the legendary chronograph impressively represents the brand’s pioneering and adventurous spirit.

The Moonwatch features a polished and brushed bracelet, front and back sapphire crystal, an asymmetrical case inspired by the 4th generation Speedmaster, a stepped white dial with applied OMEGA logo, Moonwatch-style hands, and a black bezel with the iconic dot over 90.

Key Materials

Stainless steel

Stainless steel is certainly the most conventional watchmaking material for creating external parts, offering beauty, strength, and good value for money. OMEGA uses 316L stainless steel.

Aluminum

Aluminum is lightweight and ideal for decorative components. With anodizing, it allows a wide range of colors on bezels, dials, and hands. OMEGA has created a special process that makes its bezels nearly twice as hard as normal ones, offering greater resistance to scratches and external damage.

Sapphire crystal

OMEGA uses synthetic sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment and high scratch resistance. Produced by the Verneuil process, which fuses raw material until crystallization, it achieves 9 Mohs hardness, making it nearly unscratchable and ensuring full dial clarity.

Automatic winding movement with Co-Axial escapement. Master Chronometer certified and approved by METAS, resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. Free-sprung balance with silicon balance spring, bi-directional automatic winding. Luxurious finish with rhodium-plated rotor and bridges, and arabesque “Côtes de Genève”.

DESCRIPTION

Presented with a polished and brushed bracelet, this 42 mm stainless steel Moonwatch features sapphire crystal on the front and also on the case back. Inspired by the style of the 4th generation Speedmaster used on the Moon, it also includes an asymmetrical case, a white lacquered stepped dial with applied OMEGA logo and indices, Moonwatch-style hands, and the famous dot over the number 90 on the black anodized aluminum bezel.

At the heart of the watch is the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, which powers the small seconds subdial, the 30-minute counter, the 12-hour counter, and the central chronograph function.
